Akpi powder

L'akpi is a kernel from a tropical forest fruit tree, the djansang, taxon Ricinodendron heudoletii or Ricinodendron africanum (Bail.) Pierre ex-Pax (Euphorbiaceae). Akpi is used as a flavour enhancer. Akpi contains mineral elements such as calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and potassium. The almonds of Ricinodendron heudelotii are relatively rich in protein, fat, phosphorus and potassium. A team of doctors has isolated a molecule from the oil of the kernel that is reputed to induce ovulation in women.
